Senate approved, on April 3rd, 2020, Bill No. 1179/2020, filed on March 30 by Senator Antonio Anastasia, which, among other provisions, extended Brazilian General Data Protection Law effectiveness date to January 1st, 2021. The administrative sanctions established by Articles 52 to 54 of LGPD will come into force on August 1st, 2021.
